Congratulations to the team from the Royal Ottawa Golf Club who took first place in the A Division of the OVGA Women's Intersectionals hosted at the Rivermead Golf Club on Sunday, July 14, 2024.

2024 OTTAWA VALLEY GOLF ASSOCIATION WOMEN’S INTERSECTIONAL A DIVISION

The OVGA Intersectionals are sponsored by GOLFOMAX, which is owned and operated by Dru Lafave.
 
The OVGA Women’s Intersectionals were first played in 1997, and golf clubs were seeded by a draw.  The team from the Madawaska Golf Club was the initial winner in the A Division.  Overall, nine OVGA Clubs have hoisted the trophy as winners in the A Division of the OVGA Women’s Intersectionals:
 
  • Madawaska (twice: 1997-98)
  • Brockville (four times:1999-2000 & 2015-16)
  • Kanata (four times: 2001-04)
  • Rideau View (twice: 2005-06)
  • Rivermead (three times: 2007-09)
  • Carleton (five times: 2010-14)
  • Royal Ottawa (three times: 2017, 2022 & 2024)
  • Camelot (twice: 2018-19)
  • Ottawa Hunt (twice: 2021 & 2023) 
There was no competition in 2020 due to COVID.
 
2024 OVGA WOMEN’S “A” DIVISION INTERSECTIONAL AT RIVERMEAD
 
Rivermead hosted the 2024 A Division due to the new OVGA Host Club Rotation System.
 
Records of the four teams competing in the 2024 OVGA Women's Intersectionals A Division:
 
  • Ottawa Hunt & Golf Club (founded 1908) - competed three times in A Division, and won twice (2021 & 2023) 
  • Royal Ottawa Golf Club (founded 1891) - competed 20 times in A Division and won twice (2017 & 2022).  SPECIAL NOTE Kathy Keely has competed for Royal Ottawa every year since the Women’s Intersectionals were initiated in 1997, and this was her 27th consecutive appearance (there was no competition in 2020 due to COVID). 
  • Rivermead Golf Club (founded 1910) - competed nine times in A Division and won three times (2007–2009)
  • Hylands Golf Club (founded 1963) - competed five times in A Division.
