Isaiah Ibit is Runner Up in the 2025 Canadian Men's Amateur Championship
Many congratulations to former Team OVGA member, Isaiah Ibit, who came second in the 2025 Canadian Men's Amateur Championship, held at the Royal Ottawa Golf Club from July 28 - 31. In a dramatic final round, Ibit birdied the final three holes for a tie for first place, forcing a playoff.
After a two-hole playoff, Australian Declan O'Donovan was awarded the Earl Grey Cup for the win.
Ibit, currently a freshman playing for the Kent State Golden Flashes, and a Team Canada NextGen member, carded 68, 68, 67, and 64 for the week.
First played in 1895, the Canadian Men’s Amateur Golf Championship has been played 120 times. The main host for this year's tournament was The Royal Ottawa Golf Club, with Rivermead Golf Club serving as co-host for earlier rounds. The event was a great success for both clubs, thanks to a strong team of volunteers and high praise for both courses from the players.
