2025 OVGA Men's Masters / Women's Four-Ball Winners

The Smiths Falls Golf and Country Club was the host for the combined 2025 OVGA Men’s Masters and Women’s Four-Ball tournaments on August 27.  With the exception of a few strong gusts of wind, both the weather and course conditions were ideal for this event that brought together a total of 116 golfers for some friendly competition.

 
 
 Billy Leadbeater, 2025 OVGA Men's Masters Champion

The OVGA Men's Masters is an 18-hole, stroke play event, open to men aged 40 and over with a handicap index of 18 or less.  Billy Leadbeater, now a repeat OVGA Masters Champion, took the title again on his home course shooting a solid even-par 71 that included three birdies. Kevin Bellamy, also playing out of Smiths Falls, finishing one shot back of Leadbeater with four birdies of his own. Seven different players tied for 3rd with scores of 74 (+3), included Frank Pecora who had the low net score of the day at 65 (-6).  Click here to see the full results.

 

 

 Leanne Watt & Amey Doyle, Winners, 2025 OVGA Women's Four-Ball, A Flight
 
The Women’s Four-Ball is a two-player team better-ball competition, which attracted an impressive 34 teams this year, with even more on a waiting list.  Leanne Watt and Amey Doyle from Smiths Falls Golf & Country Club took top honours in A Flight, shooting a one-over-par 72.  Nancy Gerritse and Lisa Muise tied with Stephanie Holland and Linda Sellers in B Flight, and there was a three-way tie for first place in C Flight.  Prizes will be awarded evenly to all winners in the gross and net score competitions.  For full results, click here.
