The beautiful Renfrew Golf Club hosted this years’ OVGA Ryder Cup tournament on Friday, September 26th.  Ninety-six players teed it up for this fun two-person team event, which includes six holes each of scramble, alternate shot and best-ball formats. The weather started out perfectly before cooling down a bit, and the golf course conditions and fall colours were on fine display.

Winners in Flight 1 of the women's division were Lise Jubinville and Brenda Pilon (Hylands) with a score of 72 (+1), making it their fourth time winning this tournament, including the last three years in a row.  Runners-up in the gross category were Diane Dolan and Margot Greenberg (Hylands), with Pam Dube and BJ Wagner (Greensmere) coming second in the net category.  Flight 2 winners were Brenda Fawcett and Melanie O'Hara (Eagle Creek) in the gross, and Cathy Murphy and Karen Whiteman (Smiths Falls) in the net.

For the men, it was Phil Hermitte (Pembroke) and Stéphane Paré (Renfrew) taking top honours in Flight 1 with a score of 65 (-6).  There was a tie for second spot in the gross category between Richard Pope and Taylor Collins (Sandpoint) and Adam Kingsbury and Chris Collins (Rideau View).  Flight 2 winners were Paul Petrie (Stonebridge) and Larry Vice (Renfrew) in the gross, and Eric Irons and David Hodgson (ClubEG) in the net category.
