The OVGA Intersectionals is the largest golf event held in Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec each summer.  Teams of  men, senior men, women, senior women and junior golfers from OVGA member clubs play simultaneous matches against three other clubs in their respective divisions.

Team members generally compete on their home courses to qualify to represent their clubs in the Intersectionals.  Teams from each club are composed of ten competitors and two alternates for the Men and Senior Men, seven competitors and one alternate for the Women and Senior Women, and eight competitors and three alternates for the Junior Intersectionals.

The team earning the most points in each division moves up a division the following year, while the team with the lowest points moves down a division.  The overall goal for every OVGA member club participating in Intersectionals competition is to play in the “A” Division for the OVGA Intersectionals Championship.  The winners of the A Division of the Men and Women Intersectionals receive the Intersectionals Trophy sponsored by Golf-O-Max.  The winner of the Men's Senior Intersectionals receive the John Holzman Trophy.
Men, Women and Junior Intersectionals tournaments are generally held in mid summer, while Senior Men and Senior Women Intersectionals are held late summer.  In total, over 2,000 golfers compete in the OVGA Intersectionals each year.
